Dadio’s newest release, “Broken,” starts off with his hallmark piano sound, but capably introduces distinct electric guitar tones that eventually take center stage during an aggressive middle 16 and a blistering outro.
“Words just echo in my head,” Dadio sings in this plight about being down-but-not-completely-out, and that description may well represent the listener’s experience, too, as edgy-yet-harmonic call-and-response vocals are employed throughout. This approach adds the ribbon on top of an already catchy melody line.
As always, the production and eye on craft is impeccable, but at this point we know to expect that with any Dadio release, and “Broken” adds another key landmark to the artist’s growing musical narrative.
